Those are three great amps, and two guitars that should cover you for about any tone.

yeah or atleast it should cover all the tone I need... Smile
was thinking about maybe getting an Explorer or a LP Standard with Wolftones.

and maybe take a look at Matchless amps instead of the /13.

While I agree Matchless is one nice amp I don't think they are worth the money. Why don't you simply consider some of Fender's new amps, the new ones sound very good and the price is very fair on them. I picked up a Super Sonic head and I love it, Vibro Cleans, Bassman Crunch, and enough gain to run with a DSL

I never played a matchless just watched a lot of clips on youtube but the price compared to other botique amps is too much. I wish I could find a store to play some botique amps just so I can play them and say to myself "that amp is that much?!? and my VM still sounds better Smile" I might have to look for some stores in the NYC. Also just curious what you guys think about this topic, I hear and read a lot about how the Fender RI Amps are nothing, not even close to what they were back in the 60s and 70s.

Anyways teddy have fun with all your new gear. Would love to hear a review on that Nash Tele.

I have a 1966 Twin Reverb and have had a Deluxe Reverb RI. I've (on a few occasions) been able to compare my Twin side by side with the reissues and I think Fender has done a fantastic job with their reissues. There were slight tonal differences (mine was a bit warmer) but I think it had a lot to do with the aging of the wood and speakers more than anything (and the fact that mine is loaded with all JJ tubes -instead of Groove Tubes- and I have it biased warm). Unless you have them side by side you'd never know the difference & I'm sure in 40 years the reissues will sound as good as mine does today.

I have the Fender Super Reverb Reissue and its sounds excellent, and it just has the stock shit Groove tubes(I have sets of JJ's waiting to be put in). Whether it sounds as good as the original is debatable. If you go to Guitar Player Magazine online and search for the review they did about a year or two ago, they were even surprised at the quality of the sound of the reissue. The original is going to sound warmer for sure because of the speakers being broken in, and I am sure that in generall the parts on the older originals are of better quality, but as far as the Super Reverb, I am more than happy. I have owned an original Blackface Twin in the past and some other Fender amps, so I am familiar with good clean tone. I bought my Super Reissues used so the price was right and I am very pleased with the tone they offer. The older Twin models had Eminence speakers and the new ones have Jensen reissues which are actually made by a company in Italy. So as far as the Twin. The reissues may sound different depending on the speakers in them. I have read all the reviews on Harmony Central for the Fender reissues( Twin Reverb, Super Reverb, and Deluxe Reverb) as I was trying to find an amp to compliment the Marshall Vintage Modern, I was looking for that Fender sound for my single coil pickup guitars and the Fender reverb and tremolo too. No need for pedals right now, if I want the Fender sound or some Fender reverb or tremolo I just plug into the Super Reverb for a fix. I always go back to the Vintage Modern before too long though. If money gets any tighter and something has to go, the fenders will be going before the Marshalls, but I really do like the Super Reverb Reissues though. I would recommend anyone looking into the reissues to read the reviews at Harmony Central on those reissue amps and take the good and bad and see what you think. Buy a used one, wait for a good auction with a good price and if you do not like it you can sel it without loosing much. If you buy one also spend the money to put a set of JJ's in.

I also was looking for a good clean amp that would go together with my VM. First I purchased a Deluxe Reverb Reissue which I loved, even at 22 watts it had plenty of balls. However once I got a chance to put the Super Sonic through it's paces I was very impressed and bought the 60 watt head. The Vintage Modern along with the Super Sonic gives a player a full range of excellent tones. There is a great interactive demo on Fenders site of the Super Sonic, please give the site a couple minutes of your time, worth checking out .

Gear of your own choosing that is paid for by somebody else. It doesn't get better than that.

hehe. yeah Smile I agree... although it's not unlimited.
I wish I could go on a buying frenzy and spend billions of dollars.
but that's not how it goes...

I wish the /13 mfg would borrow me an amp for the recording of the new songs to see how it works.
I really like the VHT, ever since I tried the clip I knew it was the right amp, when I tried it in person I was even more impressed.
Koch are also very nice amps.

The only amp I haven't tried is the /13.... I hear all good things about it. But it's kinda pricey.....
Very boutique price for a boutique amp. But like I said....

If you are looking at boutique amps, check out the 65 Amps London. There is a great review on Youtube. I've used it at a few recent gigs and couldn't be more pleased. The sound guys always comment on how great this amp sounds. It's 18 watts so you can get it to break up at reasonable volumes with humbuckers, but it still gets very loud if you need that.
